An evening event in collaboration with Forum for the Future, offering a participatory exploration of spiritual ecology and systems change.

What is the role of the sacred or spiritual dimension in the work of systems change, and how do we include it? How do we balance the need for deep change with the urgency of the change needed? What are the practices that can facilitate a shift to a spiritual ecology and systems worldview and relationship to earth? How do we bring this worldview into spaces that aren’t in alignment with it? What are some examples of projects leading the way?

Grounded in a shared purpose to create deep and radical change in service to the future, this gathering brought together St Ethelburga’s Centre and Forum for the Future change-maker communities, to expand our understanding of the practical application of spiritual ecology and systems change. The workshop guided participants through a creative and experiential exploration structured in three parts: worldview & principles, practices and project case studies.

The event was co-facilitated with Daniel Ford, a sustainability strategist at Forum, with a keynote talk by Dr Jean Bolton the lead author of ‘Embracing Complexity’, who shared her interest in the links between postmodern Science, Daoism and Buddhism. Together we engaged in story circles, case studies, experiential practices, poetry and more!
